Porto Santa Margherita (Caorle, Venice), on Saturday, May 10, 2025, hosted a large number of amateur triathletes, who crossed the seaside resort, including a 1.5 km swim, a 40 km bike ride, and a 10 km run, to participate in the first edition of the Venice Caorle Tri Olimpico No Draft
The city of Caorle was ideally suited to host an Olimpico No Draft race. Despite a small hitch on the swim course due to rough seas, which made the swim slightly shorter, the rest of the competition proved satisfactory. The triathletes themselves, some of whom had already participated in last year’s Sprint, said they were extremely pleased, commenting on the safety of the course, considered an essential element, and the energy that pervaded the entire event, in an atmosphere of fun and sociability. A demonstration that sport is more than just competition.
Beyond the safety of the route, the participants ran a stretch through greenery, crossing the Altanea Park. This space welcomes the three-dimensionality of the Symposium of sculpture with the Floating Cubes, a name that refers to water, an identifying element of the city of Caorle. Five Platonic solids inside floating cubes, created from blocks of stone that the sculptors expertly shaped. The union of the sculptures with the surrounding nature was the perfect setting for the triathlon sporting activity.
The third half was a must, with the pasta party, where participants also gathered for a symposium featuring gourmet culinary offerings, including vegetarian dishes, and the awards ceremony celebrations, which saw the triumph of the men: Marco Lorenzon (asd Jesolo Triathlon), Vincent Dominin, and Filippo Turco (Doloteam). The women’s podium was taken by Francesca Crestani (Valdigne Triathlon), Mirela Djurdjevic, and Elena Caccin (A3 Fotomeccanica). The race also counted towards the regional title.
